Tom Brady joins the Birmingham City Football Club

Weekly Headlines

🏟️ Tom Brady joins the Birmingham City Football Club. Considered to be the greatest Quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, is joining a European football (soccer) team as chairman of the advisory board. Brady is acquiring a minority stake in the football club at an undisclosed price. One thing to note is Tom Brady has a net worth of $300M. If you have more questions and are curious to learn about this decision made by the GOAT, Tom and BCFC created this fun video.

⚾️ The Braves reported earnings for the first time since becoming a publicly-traded company, and it rocked. The Atlanta Braves are the first MLB team to trade publicly in 25 years. Total revenue for the sports team grew 8% to $270M in Q2. One thing to note is that Liberty Media (the previous owner of the Braves) still owns a majority of shares in the Atlanta Braves Holdings, Inc. Profits did slightly decline in the organization in large part due to an increased payroll. Braves fans may be on board with the increased payroll as they sit at the top of the NL East with the best record in all of baseball.

⛳️ Tiger Woods joins the PGA Tour Board. In June, PGA Tour and Saudi backed LIV announced plans to merge. After such a shocking announcement came, players have been quietly sounding the alarm with a transparent deal. On Tuesday, when Tiger Woods was named, he became the sixth player director on the powerful PGA Tour policy board. That means, that players have a one-seat edge on the board following the announcement of the controversial merger between the PGA Tour and Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Something very fascinating to note is that 5 of the policy board members are independent directors, with professional backgrounds in law and business. Can Tiger Woods stop this deal?
